“No, Mara. I still think our hotel is this way," her friend insisted, pointing a direction out on their map.
“I disagree, Susan," Mara replied, shaking her head. She took the map from her friend’s hands and folded it, very upset. She looked around a few seconds. “You must accept it, Susan, we are lost. I think we should take a taxi."
“No, Mara. I know where we are," she insisted, and took the map to examine it once again.
He pulled his car up outside the video store and parked. He looked at it for a while as he sat there. It was small out of the way, not one of those big chains. Maybe he could get in and out with little trouble. Of course he didn’t have a membership and if they asked for his ID he’d be found out. What are the odds the girl behind the counter wouldn’t recognize him? He had his long black hair pulled back into a ponytail and a baseball cap on to shadow his face.
Claire goes to see the actors at a theatre and gets a chance to meet Oded.
Something is seriously wrong, can anything be done.
There was a sci-fi and horror convention at a small hotel about thirty miles from Bismarck in North Dakota, at a little place called Indian Creek. It was four days before xmas and snow was thick on the ground and traveling was a little hard in places but they hoped for a good turnout.
It had been a hectic morning. The photo session had lasted several hours and Oded had been up early for costume fittings to his new TV series. He has several hours before he was due on the set of the new show and he wanted some peace and quiet. He ordered takeout from the hotel restaurant before taking the elevator to the roof.
She had been doing photo shoots for a while now but nobody really worth mentioning. Either footballers, which she hated doing or models who thought they were Gods gift.
"Hi, honey," she said, greeting Oded with a kiss as he came into the living room of their home.
"Damn!" Oded mutttered in frustration as he looked at the meager selection of cards. It was Valentine's Day and he was late. He had been held up in interviews all day. He had hoped to shop at lunch, but had not had time. Now it was past six and all the nicest cards were gone.
Forced home from filming, Oded meets his neighbour
Lying next to him, she raised herself up slightly to look down into his handsome face. The early morning sun filtered through the lacy curtains to bathe his soft features in its warmth. How peaceful and handsome he looks when he's asleep, she thought.
“You should not be here. You must leave at once” a silky voice spoke gently.
I never was someone who could sing well, but with the lifeless infant in my arms, it was all I could think of to do.
“Have you ever seen a desert storm?”
She shook her head, her long brown hair flying about her face. He was behind her – she could feel his heat against her back – his hands resting lightly on her hips. They stood together on a high ledge looking out over the oasis. His hands moved with a familiar ease to circle around her stomach as he pulled her back against the hardness of his body. She leaned her head back until it rested comfortably just below his shoulder.
Ardeth/Evy
She’d seen him watching her at the party all evening.
Ardeth stood before the long oblong swivel mirror and attempted to brush the mass of tangles from his long thick hair. He’d just finished bathing and his bronzed skin still held the warm dampness from the water. A white towel wrapped around his narrow waist was all that clothed his hard muscled body as he pursed his lips together in frustration. He winced slightly at the throbbing pain from the nasty gash on his upper right arm as he tried to maneuver the brush through his hair. It was even worse when he tried to use his left hand.
“Allah! Why do I bother?” he growled in frustration as the tangles refused to budge. “I should just cut it all off!”
“Don’t you dare!” came the soft whispered feminine threat from behind him as he spun around to find Evy staring wide eyed at him from the doorway.
Frank looked at the clock on his mantel, it was 2:30 in the morning, and shaking his head he thought ‘great way to spend a Saturday evening’. He had pulled himself out of the dating scene when he met Susan, he thought they were compatible, and she understood his commitment to his job. Two weeks ago, the bottom fell out when he was told he had to go Las Vegas for a couple of days. They had an argument and both said hurtful things that they could never take back. He wasn’t ready to return to the dating scene for all the people and relationships proved to be superficial.
This story is based on a previously written (but unfinished) fanfic. It features the original character, Eli Kohlberg, who was written with Oded in mind.

The title of this story comes from Kings of Leon's song "Beautiful War." Annie and Eyal have always had a somewhat love/hate relationship, however, I find that dynamic an interesting aspect of their relationship—their endless banter (which some have said is them fighting like a married couple), their desire to save and protect one another, the give-and-take they do with one another, and of course, the incredible chemistry and the depth of the feelings they have for each other. And thus, as seen from some of the song lyrics I've added below, their relationship is like a "beautiful war" to me.

"Bite your tongue, don't make a scene, dear. Everybody's been here, least once before—but we've been here more. Your heart breaks...And I've seen it all go, come back around. And I've heard the sound. The tip of your tongue, the top of your lungs, is doing my head in. I say, 'Love, don't mean nothing, unless there's something worth fighting for.' It's a beautiful war. When I hold the warmth of your body, there's nobody that I'd rather hold...I say 'Love, don't mean nothing, unless there's something worth fighting for.' It's a beautiful war." — Kings of Leon, "Beautiful War"
Antoine LaConte gratefully flopped onto his Urban Cali sofa, exhausted, even though he hadn't exerted himself. He was tired, numb and even depressed, though he should be happy about being out of jail. And he washappy about it. He was just...what word could be used? He could not think of it and leaned his head back, closing his eyes.
There was a man standing in the doorway of her tent. Veiled, dressed in black robes, a scimitar hanging by his side. He had appeared there silently, like a ghost, or a shadow, and the woman gasped and took a step backwards.
Evie and Rick are invited to a soiree by Josephine Stanley, one of Evie's old childhood friends. Since Ardeth is visiting them on a short holiday, they extend the invitation to him as well. Before the party is over, they find that she is a prisoner of a controlling vampire passing himself off as her fiance. From the shores of the English Channel to the deserts of Egypt, it is a race against time to bring Josephine back from her half-vampiric state and back into the arms of a long-lost love
A modern-day exorcist is recruited by Evie and Rick O'Connell to help their good friend Ardeth Bay get rid of some unwanted guests that have invaded his body. Considered a rogue exorcist, Morgana Ryan doesn't play by the rules but when it comes to getting the job done, there's no one better. And then...then she had to fall -- and fall hard -- for the very Medjai chieftain she is recruited to exorcise.
